Our Company

Travertine or Travertine Marble is a natural calcareous sedimentary rock, formed when extremely hot groundwater dissolves the underlying limestone and elevates it, then when the water falls to the ground and evaporates, it leaves the dissolved limestone, which hardens in stone. The new stone is full of gas bubbles, which give the travertine its characteristic appearance with holes inside the stone that were caused by the evasion of that carbon dioxide gas.

Travertine is a robust and docile stone, usable from the ground to the exterior and interior finish of buildings and also in sculpture. It has been widely used in construction since the classical era in the first millennium before Christ, particularly in Rome, Ascoli and many other cities, where all its monuments, churches, palaces, squares and large buildings were made entirely in this material, as well as its main roads and carriageways, many of which have been used until our time keeping their pavements untouched through time.

History

The Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter’s Basilica and many other ancient structures show that Travertine exposed to the air not only resists the passage of time, but also becomes more solid and compact.

In Italy, the best travertine comes from the plain of Tivoli near Rome, which looks practically the same as Travertine Chile; with the great advantage that ours has in its composition a greater amount of silica that makes it even more compact and harder, becoming the ideal material for luxury buildings around the world.
